Porsche AG and Puma Celebrate the Porsche 911 Turbo
When you think of the Porsche brand, it’s a safe bet that sneakers aren’t the first thing that comes to mind. That said, somehow, the collaboration between Porche and Puma just seems right. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo, the brands have teamed up to create some fantastic sneaker designs, and Porsche Woodland Hills has the details.
Historical Connection
There are two sneakers in this series that have a connection to iconic Porsche models. The design of Puma’s Turbo No. 1 is based on the model given to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday. Created in metallic silver, the sneakers feature the red and blue tartan pattern of the interior of the first 911 Turbo model. The design of the Turbo 930 sneaker was developed as an homage to Dr. Ferry Porsche’s Turbo vehicle from 1976, and its lining had a green tartan pattern.
One-of-a-Kind Kicks
The Porsche-Puma sneakers feature vintage turbo lettering on the outside and a Porsche logo. The heel pays tribute to the iconic “whale fin” rear spoiler and its horizontal red tail lights. It also has a tonal Porsche Crest in 3D print. The front of the lacing has a removable plaque with 50th-anniversary lettering.
Get Your Sneakers While You Can
These new Puma sneakers won’t be available everywhere, and they won’t be available for too long. Puma is making twelve different designs, which will be limited to just 911 units per model.
